Zhang Li, the founder of Sanya Baitai Biotechnology Co., Ltd., was invited to be the guest of Sanya Television Studio. She gave a full account of her story living and working in Hainan since 29 years ago.
Story 1 - “The teacher resigned and moved to Hainan province because of LOVE”
Let’s go back to 29 years ago. April 26, 1988, the new China's thirty-first province was established - Hainan Province, it also named the only special province in China. Special province means special opportunities for businessmen, therefore, hundreds of thousands of people arrived in Hainan province from other areas of China.
Zhang Li was very young at that time, she and her husband Mr. Fan married just more than a year. However, Mr. Fan decided to do business in Hainan province, which is 2500 KM far away from hometown. Zhang Li was left in hometown as a teacher. In the summer of 1989, Zhang Li came to Hainan on holiday to see her husband.
After staying in Hainan 2 months for vacation, Zhang Li thought that Hainan's living environment is very good, and the development opportunities are much better, the most important thing, it’s not good to separate with husband for long time. Take everything into consideration, Zhang Li resigned her stable job of teacher, create her own business from Zero in Hainan with her husband.
Zhang Li said: "As long as I can live with my loved husband, hard work is worthy."
No friends, no money, Zhang Li started from the most common job. She wears short hair, her eyes are sparkling, she is smart and energy. Her good character not only help her to make a group of like-minded friends, but also brought her a lot of developing opportunities. Soon Zhang Li became successful businesswoman.
Story 2 - “Successful businesswoman switch her business from Real estate to Biotechnology.”
In the early years, Zhang Li and her husband Mr. Fan accumulated wealth through the business of building materials. Subsequently, Zhang Li decisively switched to the field of real estate, and achieved further success accordingly.
From 1989 to now, Zhang Li has been living and working in Hainan for 29 years. She and her husband not only won big success in business, but also had 2 children - the son (Jiaming) and the daughter (Rachel). What a happy family! However, they’re worry about Jiaming all the time.
Why?
"In 2009, Jiaming was 12 years old, but he was different from his peer group, looked very thin and small. We have no idea what’s wrong. So we took him to a big hospital to do a detailed medical examination.”
According to the results of the examination, they got the reason and knew that calcium deficiency is the key factor for Jiaming’s slow development of bone age. In order to let Jiaming have a healthy body, Zhang Li asked friends around, collected a lot of information about it. Including these points: Why people has the problem of calcium deficiency? How to get enough calcium intake? Which products are effective? And so on.
"After collecting more and more information, I realized that Jiaming is just an example, most Chinese people are suffering from calcium deficiency." Zhang Li said that the survey data shows that the average daily calcium intake of urban residents in China is only about 400 mg, while the daily calcium intake should be 800mg at least, only half of it. About 80 percentage Chinese in the state of serious calcium deficiency.
“There are thousands of calcium products, why there are so many people lack of calcium?” Zhang Li continued to explore, and she found that traditional calcium products are facing with poor absorption, side effects and many other problems.

But, her husband Mr. Fan was not agree, “Firstly, investment capital of 10 million Yuan is a big amount. Secondly, Real estate is a hot industry, while chelated calcium is a new product, the risk is huge."
What did Mr Fan said is reasonable. "At that time we have to invest 10 million yuan used for the plant, equipment, workers, etc., which needs to spend a lot of our savings." Zhang Li understood it was not easy to accumulate money through hard work for years, but she is not a person who easily gives up and profit first.
Zhang Li introduced chelated calcium to her husband. She said, "This is a high technological content project, the absorption rate of amino acid chelated calcium is higher than 90%, three times higher than the traditional calcium. Moreover, when we take traditional calcium, it occurs constipation and gastrointestinal discomfort. But the chelated calcium doesn’t has this kind of problem, it’s safe and has no side effects.”
"Our son Jiaming needs a suitable calcium product to improve his health. Same as Jiaming, 80% Chinese people in shortage of calcium, it means there is a huge market demand of chelated calcium." Zhang Li said, "Moreover, If this product can improve the situation of calcium deficiency for Chinese, it will become a very important social benefit. Mr. Fan changed his mind, and firmly supported her finally.
2009, Zhang Li formally started her business in the field of Biotechnology.
2010, Sanya Baitai Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was founded.
2011, the new company invested 18 million yuan, built the first production line.
2011, Since Calcium amino acid chelates is a new kind of product, there is no production standard for it, Sanya Baitai Biotechnology Co., Ltd. drafted the National Standard of Amino Acid Chelate Calcium (GB29226-2012), filled the gap of production standard in China.
2013 Jan, the national standard GB29226-2012 was published, Baitai got production license and started mass production and sales of chelated calcium in 2013.
L-aspartic acid chelated calcium quickly gained the market recognition for its advantages:

May 2017, L-Aspartic Acid Chelated Calcium was identified as high-tech product in Hainan Province.
With the rapid growth, Baitai’s second factory is under construction and almost completed, which is covering 65000 square meters (16 acres), invested 0.2 billion yuan, located in Sanya creative industrial park. Upon completion, Baitai’s factory will become the high-level and large-scale production base in the field of nano chelated calcium in China.
